ABOUT US

The Support for Network and Extension Help Agency (SNEHA) is an organisation dedicated to improving the living conditions of the poor and vulnerable in rural Southern India. The Agency was formed in 1999 by a group of like-minded professionals with a common interest in promoting rural development in their local areas.

Our Mission:

  • To facilitate the process of development and growth in rural communities by effectively and sustainably utilising both human and natural resources within the community.
  • To work towards favourable changes for the rural poor by creating a network of institutions.
  • To enhance participative planning, implementation and monitoring through people institutions.

Our Objectives:

  • A network between various Development Agencies with the common objective of empowering the poor in India.
  • Support for the poor and vulnerable in order to improve their economic status, natural resource management, education, health and sanitation.
  • Social mobilisation to build and strengthen people’s organisations and assist in the training and capacity building of organisations at various levels.
  • Improvements in the existing credit delivery system in order to empower the underprivileged sections of society, particularly in rural areas.
