A number of general health camps were organized in the rural areas with the help of government and private doctors on general check up and dental. Serious cases were referred to nearby government hospital. In addition, nutrition Demonstrations and awareness camps were organized in the programme area. This has helped the poor people to use available food to make nutritive food in improve their health in the rural areas. Also, advised the community about preventive aspects in health and better hygiene practices.

With the collaboration from Zilla Panchayath, Mysore, constructed 50 individual toilets at Kembal village and 250 in Attukulipura village This has set an example on sanitation practices in surrounding villages. In addition, we are using microbial solution to decompose the solid waste and to treat liquid waste. At present, the microbial solution has been used to treat municipal soild waste at Connoor, Mettupalayam, Pollachi, Udumalaipet and 35 Gramapanchayaths in Chamarajnagar and Mysore districts. Also two schools in Erode district and The Hotel Gateway at Connoor are using to treat their liquid waste. The advantages of using the solution are as follows:

  • Not dependant upon electricity.
  • Very little labour required.
  • No technical person required for operation.
  • Minimal maintenance.
  • Almost zero sludge handling.
  • Minimal moving parts.
  • Absolutely eco friendly.
  • No foul odour.
Treated solid waste can be used as bio manure to the soil and water can be used for agriculture, horticulture and flushing. These treated wastes are within the parameters of pollution control board.
